Learn how to send messages, add vehicles, use VIN lookup, insert parts, and send faster requests.
Basic Controls

Sending to Multiple People
You can fill the TO line three ways:
1. Type Codes by Hand
Enter member codes separated by spaces.
2. Use the Checkboxes Under TO

3. Reply to a Message
When you reply, the TO field is filled in for you.
Three Ways to Describe the Vehicle
The Vehicle panel at the top helps you build a clean vehicle description instead of typing it manually. Click Hide Vehicle ▲ to collapse it when you do not need it.
Option A — Year / Make / Model
Use this when you do not have the VIN and only have basic customer information.
- Pick YEAR. Makes load automatically.
- Pick MAKE. Models load automatically.
- Pick MODEL. Trims load automatically if available.
- Optionally pick TRIM for engine, cylinder, and drive details.
- Click Insert Vehicle.
Option B — VIN Lookup
VIN lookup is the most accurate option.
- Type or paste the 17-character VIN into the VIN box.
- Click VIN Lookup.
- The dropdowns auto-fill and a multi-line block is inserted into the message.
Option C — Just Text
You do not have to use the Vehicle panel. You can hide it and type directly into the message box.
Adding a Part Name
Use the Parts dropdown to insert a standard part name in the right place in the message. It pastes at the cursor and keeps part names consistent across the network.
Inserting One of Your Listings
If you are selling and your inventory is on partsgold.com, click Insert Listing to open the Find Listing picker.
The picker pre-fills the search using the Year, Make, Model, and Part already selected in the Vehicle panel. Pick the row and the message gets a clean description with a clickable link.
Signature
Options > Signature lets you set a block of text such as yard name, phone, hours, or website. The signature is appended once to every message you send, separated by a -- line.

Tips for Faster Responses
- YMM is the minimum. Add trim or engine whenever the model has more than one engine option.
- For body or interior parts, include color or paint code.
- For engines, transmissions, modules, and body panels, include the VIN.
- Always include your city, state, and phone number.
- Keep lines short. Members scan many messages quickly.
- If it is urgent, write *** RUSH *** on the first line.
